Number and Place Value is the foundation for all other maths topics as it is all about understand numbers and what they represent. By the end of Year 6 a child should be able to:
Read, write, order and compare numbers up to ten million (10,000,000)
Round whole and decimal numbers
Understand and use negative numbers, including sequences that jump over zero, and to solve sums using negative numbers, for example -9 + 1 = -8
Solve problems using all the Number and Place Value topics they have learnt since Year 1
