Year 5 (Upper Key Stage Two) is all about being able to:
Being able to read, write, compare and order numbers up to 1,000,000 and to know the value of each digit
Count forwards and backwards in powers of ten (e.g. 10, 100, 1000 etc) up to 1,000,000
Round numbers to the nearest 10, 100, 1000, 10,000 etc
Read Roman Numerals up to 1000 (M)
Solve more complex maths problems using all of the methods learnt since Year 1
